How do I login without Upstate credentials?

Access to online library resources is extended to all users with active campus credentials, including Emeriti and voluntary faculty. Continued access almost always requires maintaining an active campus account through IMT. If you are unsure if you have Upstate credentials, contact the IMT Help Desk for assistance.
If you have reached out to the library and received a local OpenAthens username and password, starting June 1, 2026, you'll need to login at https://my.openathens.net/ before using library resources.
- From https://my.openathens.net/, select "Sign in with an OpenAthens account".
- Enter your username (or the email address attached to it) and your password. Click "Sign in".
- You should be directed to a MyAthens page with Upstate's contact information.
- Click "Access Library Resources" to visit the library's homepage and find the resource you want to use.
- As long as you are using the same browser that you just logged into MyAthens with, OpenAthens will remember your login information. Please note that you'll have to do this each time you open a new browser session.
This process should work for most resources, with the exception of resources that require access to an Upstate email address.
